Good afternoon, friends.
My last NYC installment begins:
Once we got back in to the city, Lisa took me on her usual running route through the city and Central Park. It was more than I imagined. Trees, fresh air, tons of active people (!!).
Then we got ready and headed to a sushi restaurant with some of Lisa’s friends. Before we got there, we stopped at a liquor/wine store since the restaurant was BYOB. We also got some free wine samples and a tequila shot while we were there. Score.
We walked over to a little wine shop that also serves beer samples. You get to choose 4 beers from their menu of the day. It was really fun and so super cute.
It was so great to meet more of Lisa’s friends too! We were all excited to go to a super secret speakeasy bar after called The Back Room on the lower East Side. It looked like we were going into an abandoned basement and then turned out to be this shabby, chic place.
Drinks were served in tea or coffee cups, even shots, and beer was wrapped with brown paper bags. I loved every part of this little lounge.
And that basically concluded our night there. Lisa took us to Artichoke Basille’s pizza on our way home. It.Was.To.Die.For. They have a special pizza where it’s basically spinach and artichoke dip on top of the crust. Oh so good, but really filling.
We got back to Lisa’s, slept for maybe 45 minutes, then the boy and I were off to the airport around 4 a.m. to catch our 6 a.m. flight to Phoenix. Such a memorable trip.
I still miss that bread, though…
